Brief of Panchayat Bhavan

Panchayati system –
Panchayats and Panchayati Raj was strengthened and reintroduced in Indian Governance with a broad aim and need for management of governance at the ground level.
Panchayati System is the firstborn system of local government in India. Panchayati Raj provided all major and minor features and facilities to local people of an area for a long time in Indian divisions. Though it was officially established and strengthened in 1992 as the third level of Indian Federal Democracy through 73rd Amendment Act.
Levels of Panchayati Raj Institution (PRI)–
- Gram Panchayat at village level
- Block Panchayat or Panchayat samiti at the Intermediate levels
- Zilla Panchayat at the District level.
Meaning of Panchayati Raj–
The word “Panchayat” means is a combination of two words ‘Panch’ meaning ‘Five’ and ‘Ayat’ meaning ‘Assembly’ and Raj meaning ‘Rule’ in together it means Rule by Five people.
